The Last Tomato From Our Garden

The very last tomato from our summer garden ripened in December… That garden is bare now and the vines have all died… But here is proof that it all once existed… We haven’t eaten it yet; it’s in the frig with the other five. One last summer pasta salad in 2011 during the Christmas season awaits… God’s like that a lot, isn’t He? You can’t box Him into anything. There’s no telling Him that the order of the seasons need to be followed; He made those seasons. So I think to have fun once in a while, He sends snow in April, makes azaleas bloom in December (yes, one of our little ones is in bloom right now), and lets summer garden tomatoes hang on ’til almost a brand-new year is in sight. Cherished surprises…
